Originated in Glendora, California, by C.B. Shoemaker. Introduced about 1949. Chance seedling discovered in 1933. Season Sept. to Dec. Grown commercially in a small way in the inland areas of California during the 1940's and 1950's. Fruit tend to crack at South Coast Research and Education Center in Irvine, California.
